Members can access discount benefits by logging in with the email address connected to your membership. Gift certificates and class credits cannot be redeemed online. Please contact the Museum to redeem.

Ages 12-15

$40 non-member, $32 Museum member (fees are per teen, per class)

All classes meet at the Museum’s Beet Education Center classroom at 201 E 5th St.

Teens can continue to explore their artistic creativity during out-of-school time in our fun and welcoming classroom. Whether trying something new or building on existing skills, kids have the chance to explore a variety of materials and techniques, all while connecting with other creative peers. All art supplies are provided by the Museum, unless otherwise noted in the class description-just bring your imagination!

 

Registration Policy

We depend on your enrollment for a successful class. Please plan your schedule carefully to avoid cancellations. If you must cancel your registration, please call (970) 962-2410 at least five (5) business days before the class. You may choose to transfer to another class, retain a credit for a future class, or receive a refund. If you do not call to cancel or do not show up for a class, your registration fee will be forfeited. For refunds, please allow for two weeks for checks to be processed. No cash refunds. The Museum has the right to cancel classes. If class enrollment is below the minimum requirement, a class may be cancelled. Class cancellation decisions are made at least three (3) days prior to class. 

Found Object Art – Wednesday, September 9, 4:30 – 6 pm

In honor of the upcoming exhibit celebrating various treasures found during the renovation of Loveland’s 4th Street, we will use random found materials and other supplies to create our own unique works of art. Instructed by Shelby Lynne Bledsoe

Drawing Basics – Tuesday, September 15, 4:30 – 6 pm

Want to start drawing but don’t know where to start? Learn about materials and techniques by using easy steps that will help you build your foundational drawing skills. Instructed by Shelby Lynne Bledsoe

Cezanne’s River – Friday, October 9, 2:30 – 4 pm

Discover the techniques Paul Cézanne as you recreate his River Landscape (1881) in pastels. Explore composition and color, creating your own interpretation of this classic landscape. Instructed by Shelby Lynne Bledsoe

Memento Mori – Friday, October 16, 2:30 – 4 pm

Meaning “I remember death,” Memento Mori was a genre of painting popular from the 15th-19th centuries, meant to remind viewers of the brevity of human existence and our inexorable journey towards the Beyond. Learn how to paint a simple still life of a skull and other objects common in Memento Mori paintings. Instructed by Shelby Lynne Bledsoe

Autumn Painting – Tuesday, October 20, 4:30 – 6 pm

Learn how to paint a fun autumn scene of a crow and pumpkin, using acrylic paints on canvas panels. Instructed by Shelby Lynne Bledsoe

Tree of Life – Monday, December 21, 2:30 – 4 pm

Discover Gustav Klimt’s “Tree of Life”, as you use a mixture of collage and paint to create your own versions of his famous Art Nouveaux painting. Instructed by Shelby Lynne Bledsoe

Figure Drawing – Tuesday, December 22, 2:30 – 4 pm

Learn how to block and shade a clothed figure, judge proportions, and study the way clothing is affected by the body, as you discover the basics of figure drawing. Instructed by Shelby Lynne Bledsoe

Oils for Beginners- Monday, December 28, 2:30 – 4 pm

No experience?  No problem!  Learn about materials and basic techniques in this oil painting class for absolute beginners. Instructed by Shelby Lynne Bledsoe
