Art Exhibits
Through a vibrant schedule of temporary art exhibitions, Museum visitors to this Colorado art museum are inspired and sustained through varied and challenging artistic experiences.
Loveland has a long-standing reputation as an art center, due primarily to the bronze industry and foundries that have attracted artists to this area since the 1970s. With the downtown area undergoing a renaissance based on artistic pursuit, Loveland Museum has followed suit with an ambitious art exhibition schedule. Visitors consistently express appreciation at experiencing world class art in such an intimate, accessible environment. Each year’s exhibit schedule is a careful balance between art historical icons such as Georgia O’Keeffe, Picasso or Wayne Thiebaud and exhibits by local and regional artists who display an adherence to excellence and world renown. The Museum mounts up to ten exhibitions per year in four exhibit spaces.
History Exhibits
The History Exhibits are a vital part of the Loveland Museum’s goal to serve as a regional cultural center for the enrichment of visitors of all ages and backgrounds. The scope of History Exhibits is broad, encompassing both local and regional history.
History exhibits portray the development of Loveland from its beginnings as a pioneer settlement to its becoming a thriving artistic and business community with unique qualities. In addition, these displays offer interactive and educational programming to increase visitor’s awareness of what life was like for early settlers – what they made, used and collected. The History Gallery offers the Museum the opportunity to highlight items from the collection on a rotating basis. With the prospect of expansion in the near future, there is the opportunity to expand the history section of the Museum to include more semi-permanent exhibits and include a changing gallery that will include both traveling and curated shows.
